Felicia Epstein

Dr. Felicia Bernstein is a scientist studying how to genetically modify a wheat crop that will grow in the deserts of earth after the nuclear fallout of WWIII. She hates violence and never wants to leave anyone behind. She is searching for her uncle, who has information on the location of her older brother Leon, who disappeared five years ago. In the wreckage of her uncle's home, Felicia discovers android 1019, who was sent by Leon to guide her to Oz -- a city of brilliant minds that has become a mythical post-war utopia. Felicia asks contracted mercenary Mutou to accompany her on this journey, and falls in love with him during the journey.

After arriving in Oz, Felicia realizes that Leon's sanity has slipped. Upon seeing that Leon intends to use the technology present in Oz to control humanity through warfare and conflict, Felicia helps in a plan to destroy Oz. The plan is successful, but Felicia is the only one to escape before the city of Oz is consumed in an explosion.

Six years later, after completing her project for wheat that can grow even in the desert, Felicia returns to Oz to ensure that all trace of it is wiped from the earth. While there, she discovers the body of Mutou that had been cryogenically stored by android 1019 prior to the explosion.
