Around winter of the same year, he worked as an assistant to [Yukinobu Hoshino](https://anilist.co/staff/96925/Yukinobu-Hoshino), who greatly influenced his style. He got married in the summer of 2001 and later moved to his wife's hometown of Kanazawa.
