Chobits

In a future where personal computers have evolved into humanoid devices called Persocoms, a student named Hideki Motosuwa discovers a discarded unit and takes it home. Upon turning it on, the Persocom only says "Chii," leading him to name her. As time passes, it becomes clear that Chii is not a standard Persocom. She exhibits superior performance, suggesting she may be a Chobit, an advanced type of Persocom believed to possess independent thinking.
