Choujikuu Yousai Macross: Ai Oboete Imasu ka

In 2009, humanity is engaged in a war against the Zentraedi and Meltrandi, two alien species. The space fortress Macross, having executed a space fold that transported it and part of South Atalia Island to the outer Solar System, is en route back to Earth. During a minor battle, pilot Hikaru Ichijo saves singer Lynn Minmay, and they become stranded on the ship. After returning to Macross City, Minmay is captured by the Zentraedi, and Hikaru, along with officer Misa Hayase, returns to Earth to find their civilization destroyed. A song from the distant past, combined with Minmay's singing, may influence the war's outcome.
