Hyakujuu-Ou GoLion

A powerful robot with self-awareness, Golion, misuses his abilities by attacking and killing Deathblack Beastmen, claiming invincibility. A cosmic entity punishes him by dividing him into five lion-shaped robots. In 1999, five young men return to Earth after traveling through space and discover it has been destroyed by nuclear war. They encounter the Galra, an alien species, and are taken to the planet Altea. There, they learn the five lion robots are in a dormant state across the planet. The youths must find a way to reunite the lions and reconstruct Golion, the only potential savior for humanity.
