Aiko grew up near a shrine with a sliding door that is only half painted, a detail she once dreamed of fixing. Now 17, she lacks direction in life. A mysterious man appears, and Aiko’s grandfather, who serves as the shrine’s chief priest, invites him to stay. Aiko is resistant at first but gradually warms to the man’s gentle nature despite his rough exterior. His true identity remains unclear.
