Kaguya-hime no Monogatari

Okina discovers a small infant inside a bamboo stalk while working in the forest. He takes the child to his wife, Ounaa, and they raise her as their own, treating her as a princess. The girl, Kaguya, develops rapidly, quickly becoming a strikingly beautiful young woman. After Okina finds a large amount of gold and treasure in the woods, many suitors seek Kaguya's hand in marriage. However, the narrative does not follow a conventional path of romantic pursuit and wedded union.
