Three new government employees face the challenges of their jobs. Lucy Yamagami seeks to address a bureaucratic mistake that gave her an unusually long name. Yutaka Hasebe is a laid-back worker looking for opportunities to avoid effort. Saya Miyoshi is a nervous rookie struggling with her first job. Their training is led by Taishi Ichimiya, who has been at the office for eight years but lacks the ability to teach. The group deals with an ineffective mentor and difficult interactions with the public. As they struggle with their roles, they begin to doubt their career choices but continue to support one another in their efforts.
