Shinpei Aijiro returns to his childhood home on a small island after two years for the funeral of his friend Ushio Kofune. His close friend Sou Hishigata believes Ushio's death was not natural and warns that others might be in danger. The next day, the family living next door vanishes without explanation. Mio mentions seeing a "shadow" three days before Ushio's death, hinting at a possible connection to the strange events.
