In a future shaped by the aftermath of Armageddon, an ongoing conflict between vampires and humans remains unresolved. The Vatican, struggling to defend humanity, partners with external forces to counter the vampire threat. Abel Nightroad, a Vatican priest and crusnik—vampires who consume other vampires—serves in the "Ax," a specialized unit commanded by Cardinal Catherina Sforza. During his journey, Abel meets Esther, a young girl who accompanies him to Rome for training at the Vatican. Shortly after, Abel's twin brother, Cain, leads the Rozencreuz, an organization seeking to continue the war and establish global dominance. Abel and the Ax must work to prevent their plans from succeeding.
