A world where being a hero is a form of punishment features Xylo Forbartz, a condemned individual who killed a goddess, forced to fight against endless monstrous creatures as part of Penal Hero Unit 9004. Each death results in resurrection, trapping Xylo in an unending cycle of battle. During this struggle, Xylo meets a new and mysterious goddess, leading to a partnership that may challenge the system of eternal punishment.
