Awyn seeks perfection in his role as a gardener and in his devotion to his human mistress. When he accidentally awakens the demon Vyrde, crusader knights attack his village. To defend the woman he cares for, Awyn agrees to serve Vyrde in exchange for a powerful demonic sword. Unbeknownst to him, Vyrde plans to kill the six angels who govern the world.
