Ballad x Opera

A boy named Touma Haruto is the only survivor of an arson incident that left him with amnesia. He is killed by an angel when the angel throws the angel's devil companion, who appears as a cat, at a bird and accidentally strikes Haruto. Unable to enter Heaven, Haruto becomes a wandering spirit on Earth. The angel and devil must work as shinigami to return to Heaven. To help Haruto find purpose, they offer him the opportunity to recover his lost memories of his family and reach Heaven by becoming a shinigami. Haruto agrees to the proposal.
