DEATH NOTE

A thirteen-year-old student named Taro Kagami discovers a black notebook labeled "Death Note" while walking home. Thinking it is a regular diary, he uses it to write about being bullied at school. The next day, the two students who harassed him die unexpectedly from heart attacks. When Taro realizes the meaning of the word "Death," he suspects the notebook is responsible for their deaths. His theory is confirmed when he encounters Ryuk, the shinigami who originally owned the Death Note and now watches him. Taro must now decide how to use this dangerous tool and whether he can handle its power. The story was first released as a one-shot and later included in two official Death Note publications.
