Following the civil war, the United States entered an industrial era that drew immigrants seeking opportunity, though many faced hardship, prejudice, and despair. In New York's Manhattan, the 6th district known as Five Points became a notorious slum controlled by criminal gangs who bribed authorities to maintain dominance. Amidst the crime and corruption, a young man named Luke Burns rejected mob influence, believing it stood in the way of a better life. Unbeknownst to him, his older brother, Brad Burns, was a feared assassin for the Grave Diggers, a powerful local gang. Brad, known as the Grim Reaper, concealed his violent role from Luke to shield him, while his actions shaped the dangerous world his brother sought to escape.
