A tomboy named Setsu from the village of Niolz competes in martial arts tournaments to raise money for a trip to the capital, Bazen. Her goal is to find Luca, her childhood friend who departed to claim the "Scarlet Chair" as the last legitimate heir to the throne. Upon reaching the capital, Setsu discovers someone else sitting on the throne instead of King Lucaria. This revelation prompts her to question what has happened to the real Luca. Setsu embarks on a journey to uncover the truth behind the missing king and locate her missing friend.
