Human populations have significantly decreased over the centuries due to a sharp decline in birth rates, while "Fairies," small, intelligent beings about 10 cm tall, have become the dominant species on Earth. The narrator, serving as a UN mediator between humans and fairies, returns to their hometown to assist their grandfather. Assuming the role would be relatively simple, they visit a fairy habitat to greet the inhabitants, only to encounter an unexpected situation.
