Karakuri Circus

Masaru recently inherited a large fortune following his father's death, but this has drawn dangerous attention, as others attempt to take it by force, including through assassination. After being targeted in a kidnapping attempt, Masaru is rescued by Narumi, who battles a group of strange, non-human attackers. These adversaries are revealed to be wooden puppets possessing extraordinary strength. Despite a fierce struggle, Narumi is unable to overcome them. Just as Masaru seems about to be captured, Shirogane, who has been watching over him, arrives from France wielding a puppet named Arlequin. This marks the beginning of the events in the story.
