Two coworkers at a Tokyo travel agency, Takuya and Rika, lead solitary but content lives. When the company plans to open an office in Siberia and prioritizes unmarried employees for the transfer, Rika proposes a solution to avoid being relocated. She suggests they pretend to be engaged, with the wedding planned for a year later, in hopes of remaining in Tokyo. The challenge is that the two know very little about each other. As they attempt to maintain the illusion of a relationship, it remains uncertain whether their arrangement will develop into something genuine.
