In a town marked by industrial soot, a group of boys forms a clandestine group called the Light Club within a derelict factory. They are close to activating their main project, a machine that uses lychee fruits as a power source. Meanwhile, the unity among the middle schoolers, initially based on shared fears, is breaking down into intense suspicion, extreme artistic tendencies, and repressed same-sex attraction.
