In a future where multiple species coexist, humans and demihumans experience strained relations. Demihumans were originally created by humans in an earlier era to serve as slaves, but after a war, they gained freedom, though they remain limited in their societal roles. A law enforcement officer named Canon Passacagilia works for the Special Second Division of the East Side Police Bureau, which handles cases involving demihumans. She carries out patrols and assists people throughout the city.
