Mouryou no Hako

A manga adaptation of the second novel in Kyougoku Natsuhiko's Kyougokudou Series. Set in post-war Showa-era Japan, it follows Yoriko Kusumoto and Kanako Yuzuki, students at an all-girls school who intend to take the last train to a lake. Kanako is struck by the train. Detective Kiba of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, present at the scene, is tasked with looking after the distressed Yoriko. Kiba accompanies her to the hospital where Kanako was taken and meets a woman claiming to be Kanako's sister, Youko Yuzuki. This woman is revealed to be the actress Minami Kinuko, whom Kiba admires.
