Alfred, a powerful wizard who defeated the Maou, was injured during the battle when struck by a cursed arrow in the knee. Despite his injury, he remains the most powerful wizard in the kingdom. He seeks rest but is constantly approached with requests for help, such as leading a knight squad, managing a guild, or slaying a dragon. Unable to find peace, he decides to retreat to an unknown rural village to recover. He answers a job posting for a guard in Mulg Village, where wild animals are causing trouble. The position offers food, lodging, and access to a hot spring. Alfred chooses this quiet life in the countryside to heal.
