A girl named Maquia comes from a family where all members cease aging in their mid-teens. Living without parents, she experiences solitude despite a quiet life. This tranquility ends when an invading army seeks the secret behind her people’s immortality. The most attractive girl in her group is captured, and the boy Maquia secretly admires vanishes. She manages to flee but is left without friends or home. While wandering alone in the woods, she discovers Ariel, a baby who has also lost his parents.
