In a land ruled by families named after the Chinese zodiac, a cat youkai with a grudge against the Rat Family confronts Nekuni Kyouichi, its leader. This youkai, Nekogasaki Natsuho, harbors deep resentment and seeks to kill him. Despite her hostile intentions, she is also very shy and uneasy around others. The story explores whether her conflicting emotions will ultimately lead to her downfall, echoing the idea that curiosity can be dangerous.
