Toshio Sako

When he was around 28-years old, he realized he wanted to become a mangaka. He is a self-taught artist. He became [Hinata Takehi's](https://anilist.co/staff/106415/Takeshi-Hinata) assistant, without pay. He learned a lot of manga techniques under Takeshi. Before becoming serialized, he created numerous one-shots for manga contests. One of them involved karate. [Usokui](https://anilist.co/manga/145521/Usokui/) was his first published manga. Aside from making manga, Sako also practices boxing. On August 10, 2025, he won the OFB (Oyaji Fight Boxing) Japan championship, a senior boxing association focusing on fighters who are over 30 years old.
