Mare Hyuuga started entering Nakayoshi's manga competitions at the age of 13. After earning an Honorable Mention at the 73rd Nakayoshi Newcomer Manga Awards, she made her debut at 16 in the August 2022 issue of Nakayoshi with the one-shot story "Hitsuji to Ookami" (羊と狼).
