Rei prepares to compete against Shouichi Matsunaga, a sixty-five-year-old professional shougi player with forty years of experience. Rei recognizes that his opponent has been playing for more than twice the duration of his own life. During the match, Matsunaga appears to make random moves, complicating Rei’s strategy. After the game concludes, Rei is unexpectedly invited to share a dinner with Matsunaga.
