During a school trip in Okinawa, Kuroyukihime shops with friend Megumi before being challenged to a duel by local Burst Linkers Ruka Asato and Mana Itosu. After defeating them, she compliments their speed and agrees to meet them, though she remains hesitant about real-world contact. At a cafe, they ask for her help against a monster plaguing their community in the Accelerated World. The lengthy discussion causes Kuroyukihime to forget buying a gift for Megumi, leading to an apology where she explains that discovering Brain Burst seven years ago is what keeps her grounded in reality. The following day, she enters the Unlimited Field with Ruka and Mana to meet their master, who is revealed to be an old acquaintance of Black Lotus.
