Tenchi visits Sasami's Sweet Shop, where Rui's excessive eating creates a massive bill. Yui refuses to pay, prompting Ryoko to drag both girls into the back to work off their debt. Meanwhile, Tenchi encounters the Student Council in the hallway. Momo's understanding friends allow her to patrol the festival alone with Tenchi. During this walk, Washu, a short woman in a lab coat, collides with Tenchi, causing him to grab Momo in a manner resembling a passionate embrace. Ms. Kurihara witnesses this and punishes Tenchi by forcing him to enter the festival's beauty contest. From across the campus, Ryoko spies on Tenchi and Momo through binoculars and becomes jealous.
