Shinya Nakamura's Ajin Awakening and the Pursuit by Grant Pharmaceuticals
May 6, 2016Shinya Nakamura dies in a motorcycle accident after breaking a promise to friend Yusuke, only to revive and discover he is an Ajin when his arm regenerates. He attempts to hide his nature while being stalked by a black apparition. Yusuke saves Shinya from being hit by a car and shields him from gunfire by the Ajin Management Committee, resulting in Yusuke’s fatal injury. Before Shinya can die, his Black Ghosts eliminate the gunmen, allowing him to survive. Following Yusuke’s dying wish to flee, Shinya escapes town, noting the name Grant Pharmaceuticals on nearby tissues. Meanwhile, Tosaki receives orders from the Defense Minister to investigate the incident quietly. His initial step involves locating an Ajin for assistance, leading him to review reports on Tainaka Youko, an unconfirmed young woman Ajin residing in Hyogo.
