This production serves as a summary of several Gundam series—Gundam, Gundam Z, Gundam ZZ, and Char's Counterattack—viewed through the perspective of Char Aznable. It also functions as a prelude to Gundam Unicorn. Initially presented as a live event featuring Char's voice actor performing a public recitation alongside screenings of the anime, the DVD edition alternates between the narration and clips from the animated series.
