Kirishima Kaito, a first-year high school student, observes the landscape surrounding a lake through the viewfinder of his 8 mm camera. Suddenly, an unusual light descends from the sky, followed by a powerful gust of wind that forces him into the water. When Kaito regains consciousness, he finds himself lying in bed within his own bedroom, confused by the sudden change in location. On that same day, a red-haired girl named Takatsuki Ichika arrives as a new transfer student at Kaito's school, marking the beginning of an unexpected sequence of events.
