Ash returns from Kippard's room, where Eiji happily begins to care for him. Later, Ash visits town with Max and learns of Holstock's death. He becomes convinced that Kippard and Holstock were murdered by an unknown person. The true culprit turns out to be someone Ash would never want to accept. This revelation forces Ash to confront a difficult truth about the events surrounding the deaths of his acquaintances, leading him to question the identity of the person responsible for the tragedy.
