Machida Sawako, who is nicknamed Miss Bernard, is a regular visitor to the school library. She is frequently observed holding a book in her hands. Despite her appearance as a dedicated reader, she actually desires to be an avid reader. However, she discovers that the effort required for reading is too burdensome for her. This contradiction defines her relationship with literature and her time spent in the library.
