Ep. 2: Keita Aono encounters his friend Hinoki and accidentally enters the closed Bottom World amusement park.
Keita Aono is late for school when his long-lost friend Hinoki arrives as a new student. While exploring the abandoned Bottom World amusement park, Keita is chased by monsters and finds Hinoki piloting the giant robot Kakuseijin No. 1. Her co-pilot has fled, leaving her stranded because the machine requires two crew members with Dual Kind abilities. Keita possesses this rare gift, allowing them to operate the robot together. They run out of fuel during the fight, but the mysterious being Betterman appears and transforms into the dragon Betterman NEBULA to destroy the enemy. Keita and Hinoki return to Akamatsu Industries, where Keita learns he has joined the fight against Algernon. He must now determine if his Dual Kind powers are sufficient to survive the greatest threat to mankind and uncover the true nature of Betterman.
