In the Clover Kingdom, orphans Asta and Yuno aspire to become the Wizard King. During a ceremony to receive Grimoires, Yuno obtains a rare four-leaf-clover book symbolizing good luck, while Asta receives none. A disgraced former magic knight attacks Yuno to steal the grimoire. Asta intervenes but is severely beaten and mocked for having zero magic potential. Driven by determination and Yuno’s friendship, a damaged black Grimoire appears before Asta. This book features a five-leaf clover, which is said to symbolize the Devil. This event marks the beginning of their journey, contrasting Yuno’s magical talent with Asta’s lack of innate power. The narrative establishes their shared goal and the unique nature of Asta’s newfound artifact amidst the kingdom’s magical hierarchy.
