Following the tournament, Shin discusses his history with Chrono’s father, Rive, revealing they were friends and teammates. Acknowledging Chrono’s desire to confront Ryuzu Myoujin, Shin issues a warning about the potential for death but agrees to a cardfight to gauge his resolve. During the match, Shin discloses that Myoujin played a role in Rive’s demise. This revelation causes Chrono to fear for Mikuru’s safety. However, after receiving encouragement from Mikuru, Chrono solidifies his determination to protect both her and Vanguard from Myoujin’s threats.
