Ep. 6: Chihaya secures a clubroom and recruits Kana with hakama and modeling conditions

Chihaya persuades Taeko Miyauchi to provide a storage room for the karuta club. Kanade Ōe, currently in the archery club to wear a hakama, considers switching because she assumes karuta players share her love for classical poetry and traditional attire. She is shocked to discover that competitive karuta lacks the refined poetic atmosphere she expected and that members do not wear hakama. Despite this, Chihaya visits Kana at her family’s traditional clothing store to recruit her. Upon learning that the poems hold deep symbolic meanings and historical context, Chihaya asks Kana to explain all 100 poems. Kana agrees to join on the condition that Chihaya models kimonos for the store’s catalog and that club members wear hakama during tournaments.
