Azuma discovers the opponents from Tubby, while Maeno suggests a decisive rematch where the losing coach loses his job, a plan Daimon accepts. Meanwhile, Momiji’s grandfather visits practice, introduced by Tubby as her relative. Azuma assures his brother Junpei of reaching Koshien, receiving advice to enjoy baseball. Miki transfers schools due to conflicts with Daimon. The prefab team recruits Aoba to replace a retired player, with Akaishi training her for center field against Ko.
