High school student Akira Shiroyanagi, who loves video games, survives a monster encounter but is subsequently fatally injured by a girl named Mion. He regains consciousness to discover he has been recruited into an ability focus group. This collective consists of numerous individuals who have been granted powerful abilities and are compelled to engage in combat against one another. The participants are forced to fight, with the grim possibility that they must kill each other to survive. Akira must navigate this dangerous environment where his new powers and the actions of others determine his fate in this life-or-death scenario.
