The Buff Clan, a humanoid alien race, locates the Earth colony planet Solo, where excavators have unearthed three armored vehicles belonging to the extinct Sixth Civilization. Karala Ajiba, daughter of the Buff Clan military commander, travels to Solo with her assistant Mayaya, while being pursued by colleagues Gije Zaral and Damido Pechi. Tensions escalate when a panicked Buff Clan soldier attacks an excavation site, sparking an interstellar conflict. To escape the violence, colonists Cosmo Yuki, Kasha Imhof, Bes Jordan, and Sheryl Formosa enter the armored trucks. These vehicles combine to form the powerful mecha known as Ideon, which successfully defends the colonists against the attacking Buff Clan forces.
