The situation escalates when an aggressive catoblepas threatens to eat the young bird. Confronted with this danger, Letty recognizes his own paternal instincts and steps in to protect the creature. He officially adopts the chick, naming him Pip, thereby securing its safety and establishing a new bond between them.
