Maximum, the king of Vearn's orichalcon soldiers, appears with the intent to dispose of Hyunckel and Hym. The two protagonists are exhausted following their duel, leaving them vulnerable to the assault. Despite their fatigue and the overwhelming power of the orichalcon forces, Hyunckel refuses to surrender. He chooses to continue fighting the attackers despite being unarmed, demonstrating his determination to survive the encounter against the superior enemy forces.
