Eto Sanbun no ichi

This animated film was created for the 20th Anniversary Edition of the Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival, supported by 2016 Champion and Patron Members. It explores the Chinese Zodiac, a 60-year cycle combining ten heavenly elements and twelve earthly animals, with the 20-year festival span representing one-third of that cycle. The film features 20 elements appearing and transforming from 1997, when the festival began, to 2016. The soundtrack includes music played on the Dan Bau, a Vietnamese electronic stringed instrument.
