Acnologia's Past and the Fairy Sphere Trap Plan

Flashbacks reveal Acnologia as a human doctor in a village guarded by another dragon who left to investigate Dragon Slayer magic rumors. The guardian returns mutilated and destroys the settlement with other dragons. In the present, the Dragon Slayers' attacks fail against Acnologia's spirit due to his magic immunity. Lucy proposes trapping his mindless body using Fairy Sphere, the only spell he could not escape. Wizards lure Acnologia to Hargeon, planning to use an abandoned Alvarez ship to exploit his motion sickness. Upon arrival, Acnologia senses the danger and instinctively annihilates the entire fleet, thwarting their strategy.

Acnologia's Past Revealed as Fairy Tail Seals the Dragon King

Four hundred years ago, the human Acnologia learned Dragon Slayer magic to avenge his home's destruction. He abandoned his original name, adopting Acnologia from his guardian to symbolize his hatred, and eventually transformed into a dragon. In the present, Gray and Lyon construct an ice ship, while Erza forces Acnologia's body onto it. Lucy attempts to cast Fairy Sphere using all of Fairy Tail's magic, but the power proves insufficient. As Acnologia begins to break free, Meldy uses Maguilty Sense to reinforce the guild's magic with wizards across Ishgar, successfully containing him. Meanwhile, Acnologia's spirit defeats all Dragon Slayers except Natsu. Wendy enchants Natsu with all their magic in a final effort to overpower the dragon king.

Fairy Tail guild members celebrate Lucy's novel and begin the 100 Years Quest

Acnologia's spirit is immobilized by Fairy Sphere, enabling Natsu and the Dragon Slayers to destroy his body with combined magic. This victory releases the Dragon Slayers from the time rift, allowing them to reunite with their friends. One year later, Fairy Tail attends an award ceremony for a novel Lucy published about her guild experiences. Lucy reflects on how her friends' lives have changed since the war. During the event, the group notices two strangers resembling Mavis and Zeref who befriend each other. The following morning, Natsu and Happy invite Lucy on a job, prompting her to tearfully thank them for their influence on her life. Natsu downplays her gratitude but promises they will remain together. The trio then joins their team to start the guild's 100 Years Quest.
