Ep. 1: Joe and Marie Hayakawa's children seek their parents in the Inner World with Lisa Pacifist and Kaze.

A dark pillar in Tokyo spawned two beasts that destroyed each other, swallowing geologists Joe and Marie Hayakawa into the Inner World. They returned safely, but re-entered the pillar twelve years later after publishing a book on its flora and fauna, never to be seen again. Their twin children, Yu and Ai, take an abandoned subway to find them. They are joined by Lisa Pacifist, who refuses to explain her motives. Upon arrival, they find a Tokyo-like landscape made of plants and inhabited by insects. Yu meets a chocobo and then Kaze, a man trapped in a plant cage who awakens to Yu's touch. A crystal drops, transforming into a mushroom monster. Lisa uses kigenjutsu to fight it, but the creature grows larger. As they hang from a cliff edge, Kaze summons Phoenix with his Demon Gun to destroy the monster from within, while an observer named Oscar watches unnoticed.
