Flanders no Inu

Nello Tarth is an orphan living with his grandfather in a village near Antwerp. He enjoys drawing and has been inspired by the works of Rubens since childhood. While helping with daily milk deliveries, he finds Patrash, a mistreated and abandoned dog, and they form a strong bond. Alois Cojez, the daughter of the wealthiest man in the village, is Nello's close friend. As he pursues a career as an artist, he faces the villagers' ignorance and criticism, particularly from Alois's father, who dismisses his artistic ambitions. Despite poverty and discouragement, Nello remains determined to achieve his dream and earn the respect of those around him.
