In 1956, a new teacher arrives at an elementary school in Kiba, Tokyo. Around the same time, a student from Kobe transfers into the sixth-grade class, joining class #4. This girl is intelligent, talented, and aspiring to be a singer. Her presence draws attention from her classmates due to her academic and athletic skills. A classmate, the son of a carpenter and class president, begins to feel something unique toward her.
