Traveling toward Megalopolis, Tetsuro is confronted by Count Mecha and forced to watch his mother die. He is subsequently saved by a woman who bears a striking resemblance to his deceased parent. Together, they board the Galaxy Express 999 to begin their journey. Tetsuro’s ultimate destination is a specific planet where he hopes to obtain a mechanical body. This departure marks the start of his quest for immortality and transformation, driven by the tragic loss of his mother and the mysterious assistance of his new companion on the train.
